Today’s sophisticated mechanical systems are designed, not only to provide comfort for building’s occupants, but also to make sure the environment is clean, quiet, and satisfactory for special process work.
Office buildings must be comfortable for the occupants. Recording studios must be quiet. Fabrication facilities must be clean. To accomplish these various requirements, not only must the mechanical systems be properly designed and installed, but proper verification of the operation of these systems must be performed.
AFO’s Systems Operations Department is responsible for start-up of the mechanical system, balancing of air and hydronic systems, and warranty administration. All of these responsibilities fall under the area of commissioning.
Our field supervisors monitor each job as it progresses through construction and start-up. They pay attention to each detail, and may even require added features be installed to assure the final start-up and balancing goes smoothly.
As a final step, AFO’s commissioning technician provides the final system balancing, verification, and documentation stating that the systems are functioning as designed.
Working in conjunction with the Project Manager, the commissioning technician will make sure the owner has been provided with all necessary training, operation manuals, guarantees, and warranties.
It is the responsibility of the commissioning phases of a project that any AFO installation is in working order. Without this last quality control approval, no AFO job is complete.
